my boat came with the trim gauge and wiring so i purchased the sender kit and installed it but cant get it to register.its a 115 4 stroke .when i have the sender off the boat with the wiring connected i can get the gauge to register but when i hook it to the boat its like the slot on the pin that its mounts into is 1/4 turn off so it doesnt seem to turn to the correct location, its a mercury part # and seems to fit properly .any suggestions

yes thats the number on the package. It looks like the same kit does alot of motors. Can the pin on the motor that has the mating slot be turned or is it master keyed

The shaft on tilt ram is held in with a pin through top of ram, check the pin is in place.

          Same Issue

Today, I was working on a 2006 115 4 stroke, and had the same issue. The male part of the sender was not positioned correctly to match the female slot on the pin. If I lined them up and screwed it on, it would show 3/4 on the gauge when it was fully trimmed up, and said it was fully down on the gauge but the motor still had, more downward movement on the motor.

Was looking at maybe the gauge needs to be made after 2001, according to Bell's ordering of trim gauges. Would that make a difference, or am I missing something.

I guess you are dealing with an analog gauge? I have had the same issue on my 115 efi. Remove the tri lobe pin and the top pin from the tilt ram. Turn the top of the trim ram 180 deg and reassemble. The hole for the tri lobe pin is drilled on an angle in the top of the tilt ram.
