78 Merc 80 HP Thunderbolt

Anyone know if the Thunderbolt ingnition is a CDI type? I'm trying to figure whether I need resistor type plugs or not.

Any help would be appreciated.

No you do not need resistor plugs in that engine.

Thanks. I thought the Thunderbolt ignition might be a CDI type. What is it? Also I recently found out the plug the factory recommends is a NGK BUHW-2, which is non resistor type.
