i recently bought a skeeter with a 175 black max on it i have replaced spark plugs and sprayed carb cleaner in it (it has been sitting for 1.5 years)
i put it on the water and idling is a lil rough but not that noticable, when i get ready to head out of the marina and punch the gas the motor revs to 2000 rpm and stays there for a while 1-3 mins to as long as 10mins and then it jumps up on top of the water and will run up to about 5000 rpms just like it is supposed to run. not sure what could be causing this. the timing i wouldnt think would be an issue but when you work the throttle the timing move all the way back before the carbs open 1/4 of the way (is this supposed to be like this?) any help would be greatly appreciated.

oh yeah it only does this when the prop is in the water and in gear.when it is in nuetral it revs fine.
