HI, I have a 1979 200V Outboard Motor, and the Previous Owners have really taken Great Care of it.. It looks brand new. Anyway, When I purchased the Boat and the Motor, I had a Pro come out and Change the Impeller, we Fogged it, and changed the Spark Plugs as well as the lower gear oil.
My question is really about cold starting.. As the case yesterday when I went down to the harbor to turn it over, It basically just clicks a couple of times, then spins a couple of times, then actually kicks in to try and turn over. It takes a couple of try's then turn over nicely.
After Turning over that first time, It may die and then turning over again is no problem.
Is it common to click and spin before actually getting to the point of trying to turn over?
Do I need a new Starter Solenoid?
Any advice on this subject would be a big help!
Thank you,
Dave
