Remote Control Housing Mounts

Hi there, if anybody can help me that would be wonderful. I am researching remote control mounts and have heard of the side mounts and top mounts. What is a console mount? The difference? Any other types that you all have heard of? I am interested in setting up a throttle system for a Merc outboard and I'm not sure what mount to go with.

A binacle control box is a top mount that is mounted on top of console like a center console boat uses. A side mount is like a bass boat with side console the control box is mounted on right side of boat by driver seat.
