Motor runs fine. Left my boat in the water for 4 days. Came out to start it and couldn't pull the rope. Didn't realize the motor had been hitting the mud the whole time, but its soft mud. Upon closer inspection, I found the shifter to be in the forward position. couldn't get it in nuetral. Took motor off the boat and found that the shifter is hard to put into nuetral. Can be done, but have to take cowling off and assist as shifter/throttle won't handle it. Maybe something bent? I suppose I'll have to take the lower unit off and inspect????

Fixed????
Partially dropped the lower unit...everything looked fine. Put vice grips on the shifting rod and raised and lowered it while shfting. As I raised it, I felt something 'click'. Shifter started working properly so I assume something just 'jumped' out of position. Hope that took care of it!?!?!?!?!?
