OK lets start it out I have a 1999 40 merc and a 2003 40 merc both are 2 stroke 3 cylinder motors. the 1999 model has the 60 carbs with the boyesen reeds so it is pretty peppy but more is desired. I have heard of a fuel injection kit that is available for the 40/50/60 mercury L3 3 cylinder 2 strokes that make the motor hump and it is also more ECO friendly. Does anyone know anything about this? We have raced against some of these motors in the recent past but in true racing fashion they wont give up the suppliers. These kits really turn these motors up big time to the tune of 74-77 MPH on a 12-14 ft flatbottom. Also with port work they pump out approximatly 90-100 horsepower. So my question is where the heck can I get one? Its killing me.....

I have finally found this kit and I paid dearly for it. It cost me $2600 and they installed it. It is really a complicated thing it reads exhaust gas temps and all found the motor runs better when you dry the tuner up. Top speed on a Southfork 15X48 went from 49 to 68 mph with a 11 3/4 X 17 pitch turbo wheel I tried a 25 pitch cleaver after I changed the gear ratio from 1.83:1 to 1.64:1 and didnt have motor high enough to really achieve desired RPMs but I still hit 74 MPH. I had the motor put on the DYNO after the conversion and it was putting out 92 horsepower. That was a really big gain!!!
