Has anyone ever replaced the Bearing Carrier Assembly on a 125HP Merc. I took off the prop and notices the lip that extends over the prop was severely grooved and a piece was cracked off. I have driven the boat since the piece cracked off, (the day I first noticed it) and it drives fine.
I tried to take the assembly out of the lower unit and can't get it to budge. Is there a special tool or technique to get this out, or is this something I will have to take to the dealer? Thanks for your help.
