power trim

I have a 1989 60hp Mercury outboard S# 0C134677 and the power trim just clicks. The mechanic tap it and it worked awhile but now it is just clicking. He overroad the solenoid and thinks it is the Electric Motor.

Can I get to the screws to remove the electric motor without having to take the engine off the transom?

It looks like they want $1,000 for a new one. Can I get it rebuild?

The boat is a 1973 and I need to determine if it is worth it.

you have to support the motor and slid it of the clamp bracket
