Hello I have a 1999 40 hp 2 stroke mercury outboard. It is the 3 cylinder 967cc powerhead. This powerhead was also made into a 50hp motor.
What parts would I have to change to increase my hp from 40 to 50?
Would it be as simple as changing the jets in the carb?
I tore up the lower unit and want to replace it with a jet drive lower unit. (Rocky rivers) I know this cuts the hp and I want to maintain as much power as possible after the conversion.
